Mike Evans missed three games for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers while dealing with a hamstring injury, returning to action last week in the team’s 30-7 win over the New York Giants. But the talented wide receiver was held out of the end zone in that victory, as the Giants limited him to 5 receptions for 68 yards.
It did not take long Sunday for Evans to reach the end zone against the Carolina Panthers, doing so in dramatic fashion.
After the two teams traded a few punts to open the game, the Buccaneers put together a lengthy drive, eventually working down to the Carolina 2-yard line. That is when Baker Mayfield looked in Evans’ direction on a fade route, and the receiver hauled in one of the best catches of the season:
