The 2025 AFC Championship Game is set. The Kansas City Chiefs will host the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, January 26 with kickoff set for 6:30 p.m. ET. The Chiefs opened as a 1.5-point favorite at FanDuel Sportsbook in hypothetical lines ahead of the Bills/Ravens Divisional Round win over the Bills/Ravens. The total opened at -110.
The Chiefs are playing in their seventh straight AFC Championship after beating the fourth-seeded Texans 23-14 in the Divisional Round. Kansas City has reached the conference championship game every season Patrick Mahomes has been their starting quarterback. Four of those times they’ve reached the Super Bowl, and they’ve brought home three Lombardis. They’ve won the last two Super Bowls and are looking to become the first team in the Super Bowl era to three-peat.
The Bills are one of 12 NFL teams that have never hoisted a Lombardi Trophy, and they’ll hope for different results against the Chiefs than they’ve gotten against them in recent memory. Each of those matchups — the AFC Championship in 2021, the 2022 Divisional Round, and the 2024 Divisional Round — resulted in the Bills being eliminated from the postseason.
It will be the fourth playoff meeting between these two teams since 2020, and once again the focal point will be the quarterback matchup between two of the NFL’s best, Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs are hosting and our friends at FanDuel give them a slight edge, and we’ll see if that bears out next Sunday.
