Lamar Jackson misses second practice, Broncos availability in question

The Baltimore Ravens are hoping to bounce back after a disappointing loss in Week 8 to the Cleveland Browns dropped them to 5-3 on the young season and a game behind the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC North.

But if they are to bounce back in Week 9 with a win over the Denver Broncos, they might have to do it without dynamic quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Jackson was held out of practice for the second straight day, with what the Ravens are describing as knee and back injuries:

When Jackson was absent for the media portion of practice on Wednesday, speculation began regarding his status for Sunday’s game against Denver. Ravens head coach John Harbaugh told the media on Wednesday that Jackson was given a rest day:

However, with Jackson now missing practice on two straight days, his status for Sunday against the Broncos is in doubt.

On the season, Jackson has completed 66.9% of his passes for 2,099 yards and 17 touchdowns, against just a pair of interceptions. The Ravens star also leads all NFL passers with an Adjusted Net Yards per Attempt of 9.14, and leads the NFL in Quarterback Rating with a mark of 115.4. He has added another 501 yards on the ground, with two more touchdowns.
